Ad1:KFC Palace

This week we saw an advertisement for the “KFC Palace” in Spain.  The advertisement was made in Spain.  This ad started with a survey on Twitter. Through the survey, it was found that many people on Twitter will meet KFC, but not because they love fried chicken and want a place for social interaction.  Therefore, the origin and purpose of KFC Palace are introduced in detail in a style similar to film making.

 This advertisement details the services provided in the KFC Palace through pictures, screens and commentary.  This advertisement reflects KFC’s intentions and customer service attitude.  Engage people with beautiful items and attentive service.

  1. New Associations: Picture and language to describe the whole concept of advertising.
  2. Unexpected but relevant: The concept of the first KFC palace made people feel novel, because nowhere has they tried it.  This ad conveys that KFC attaches great importance to customers and their experience.
  3. Surprise and regularity: The exquisite service and management of KFC Palace surprise people, which is in sharp contrast to the traditional KFC store.

Ad 2: Bowl to Soul – Wagamama

This ad comes from a ramen shop in the UK.  This ad brings novelty to people with impressive images and stories, and bold design and innovation bring impact.  The people in the advertisement describe the deliciousness, richness and warmth of soup by entering the world of ramen after taking a sip of soup.

Attention grabbing: vibrant colors, crisp images and creative stories.  The design caught the eye of the viewer and conveyed the company’s products and messages.

 Surprise and regularity: This design is impressive and attracts people’s attention through animation, but when the characters in the advertisement fall into the world of ramen, it can make the viewer clearly feel the deliciousness of the soup.

 Through these two ads, I can see the importance of the brand to convey the brand value and message.  The first ad conveys information in a similar way to explanation and shooting, and the second ad attracts people’s attention through animation.  I also found that creative and artistic design is very important.
